Energy levels!!..and how different foods affect them

Different foods affect your energy levels in different ways.  High sugary & simple carbohydrate foods generally give you a quick release of sugar into your blood stream, hence a quick release of energy.  After the insulin in your pancreas combats the sugar you are left with a dip in your glucose & energy levels.  This can happen quickly after eating & can therefore make you feel tired, lethargic & hungry.  It is important to ensure every meal is well balanced.  This is especially important for people with diabetes to decrease the risk of having a hypoglycaemic attack.

Bristol weight loss challenge – Starting this month!

What you need to know about

The revolutionary ‘Community Weight Loss Challenge’ is a 12 week course designed to give you the necessary knowledge and support you need to achieve safe and long term weight loss. Because we are a nutrition organisation (and not only a slimming club!), you will get a 1-2-1 with your personal coach as part of this challenge: this is the opportunity to discuss your own objectives and meal plan with your personal coach.

Welcome to Bristol Weight Loss challenge Blog!

Bristol Weight Loss Challenges are ran by Arriba! Wellness Clubs. The official launch of ARRIBA! Wellness clubs in the UK took place on Sunday 28th June 2009!!!! You will hear more and more of ARRIBA! in the next 6 months: on the street, in your local shops…on TV! Meanwhile let me introduce who we are and what we have to offer!

Arriba! Wellness clubs fill the gaps left by traditional weight loss clubs in the market: they offer support and coaching but based on nutrition. They taking us back to basics by understanding food and lifestyle and how this affects weight, health and energy. They get us away from the “diet sheets” calorie counting, cutting out whole food groups, colour days or abstaining all together from food during parts of the day.

We understand that what people need is access to local education, support and advice to help them fundamentally improve their daily diet habits. This is where Arriba! Wellness Clubs and the Community Weight Loss Challenge come in.

The launch of our first weight launch challenge took place on Friday 12th June 2009. We are running classes in a weekly basis and we already planned the launch of the second challenge in August at Kingswood Community Association. We are aiming for 20 classes per week accross the different bristol communities by the end of the year!. If you want to be part of this exciting experience, contact us or attend one of our classes, we always look for more motivated weight loss leaders!

This is a non-profit event so the biggest losers win a cash prize (participants joining fees are used for the cash prizes)!

Through this Blog, we would like to share  useful and meaningful information about nutrition, health and wealth with the hope to guide people to reach a better version of themselves and take control of their health for good. Don’t forget, whether you want to lose weight, or just feel healthier, be more performant, or simply be more educated about nutrition…this website is for you because GOOD HEALTH IS A NECESSITY TO EVERYONE.
